M E E T T H E T E A M …
Five things to know about our architecture lead Lindsay Douglas:

1️⃣ Lindsay has been obsessed with putting pen to paper his entire life, through architecture and art. Lindsay is not only a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, but also a successful artist. You can check out his work at @drawnoutbylindsaydouglas

2️⃣ Lindsay loves four things in life: architecture, art, his family and golf … not necessarily in that order! 😉 When not putting pen to paper Lindsay can be found out on the golf course, playing off his very respectable handicap. He even got a hole in one … once … and has been chasing the next ace ever since.

3️⃣ Lindsay is vegetarian, has been for nearly 20 years. He’s not vegan though, couldn’t survive if he couldn’t eat cheese. 🧀

4️⃣ Lindsay worked as a draftsman whilst obtaining a BA (Architecture) and a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours from Deakin. He is a past president of the Building Designer’s Association of Victoria and the National Association of Building Designers, both of which now operate as Design Matters National where he is a Life Member. He is a passionate supporter of the architectural profession and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects … that’s a lot of extra letters after his name!!

5️⃣ Lindsay’s favourite thing about being a part of Dig Design is that he gets to do do what he genuinely loves every day. For him architecture is a way of life, it’s like breathing. Lindsay is a problem solver, he loves a good puzzle and there’s none more satisfying than listening to a family’s space/light/lifestyle (etc) challenges and designing a solution they absolutely love.

M E E T T H E T E A M …
Five things to know about our interior design lead Julie-Anne Smith:

1️⃣ Julie-Anne is creative to the core, she loves to design, sketch, paint, knit, bake and build stuff. The daughter of an architect, this creativity has been nurtured and encouraged since childhood and is something she now nurtures and encourages with her own kids.

2️⃣ Julie-Anne is an ocean swimmer, she’s a part-time member of a swimming group called the Jellyfish 🪼… part-time because she hails from Perth and doesn’t do cold water swimming through winter (maybe she’ll be brave enough next year)!

3️⃣ Julie-Anne was a dog person, but since Mika the Balinese kitten joined the family she’s a dog AND a cat person.

4️⃣ Julie-Anne graduated top of her year with First Class Honours in a BA (Interior Design) from RMIT. Prior to that she was studying architecture but transferred to interior design after the first degree to hone her skills after she found herself always drawn to selecting studios that focused on the interior aspects of design.

5️⃣ Julie-Anne’s favourite thing about being a part of Dig Design is building lasting relationships with her clients and the look on their faces when they walk into their completed home for the first time.

Husband + Wife duo, Lindsay (architect) and Julie-Anne (interior designer) share a passion for outstanding yet affordable architecture and interior design as a whole package, considering the exterior and interior of your home from the first concept (or as separate services if you prefer).

Lindsay and Julie-Anne have been heading Dig Design for 20+ years. They are a tight knit team with an in depth understanding of what families need in their homes and what is required of them in Designing Homes You Love.

Dig Design undertakes work all over Victoria, but we have a soft spot for working in the inner west where we live, work and play.
